First Tee of the Tri-Valley Life Skills Certification Program
The First Tee Certification Process has five general requirements:
  • core lesson exposure
  • life skills application
  • golf skills application
  • life skills knowledge
  • golf knowledge
At each level of the program - Par, Birdie, and Eagle - the participants are tested and, upon certification, are eligible to progress to the next level
Par Level - An eight week series consisting of a 1 1/2 session once a week
  1. Golf Fundamentals-grip, stance, alignment, posture
  2. Putting, chipping and pitching
  3. Full swing- woods and irons
  4. Basic rules of golf
  5. How to play quickly and safely
  6. Interpersonal communication
Birdie Level - An eight week series consisting of a 2 hour session once a week
  1. Advanced putting and short game skills
  2. How to improve your full swing
  3. Club selection for short game
  4. Advanced rules of golf and etiquette
  5. Goals and dreams
Eagle Level - Four six week series consisting of a 2 hour session every two weeks
  1. How to warm up before practicing or playing
  2. How to get the most out of practice sessions
  3. How to self-check you swing fundamentals
  4. How to be more accurate with irons and woods
  5. How to use strategy on the golf course
  6. How to have a healthy body, mind and heart
  7. Respect for others
  8. Appreciating diversity
  9. Conflict resolution

A separate permission form for the First Tee of the Tri-Valley along with membership fee of $35.00 (valid through the end of year) is required to participate.
